Why Most People won’t Achieve Greatness (it’s Madness)

Image
You probably don’t want success. Sure, you are ambitious. But it’s one thing to have big goals, and another to have an obsession. Obsession drives you crazy. If you don’t have that drive, I say you don’t want success. You’re just teased by the idea of becoming great. I respect people who can be honest with themselves. So if you don’t have an obsession, have the humility to acknowledge it. There’s still hope for you. To create obsession, create urgency The key to become great is “urgency”. Obsession and urgency go together. When your back is against the wall, you are obsessed with finishing the tasks It’s when the deadline is here that you are the most productive Urgency makes us want to work harder. Here’s how to create that urgency: Remember that you will die Here’s the practical tip you can implement right now to transform your life: Think about death. It’s only when we notice we don’t have much time left that we see how much of it we’ve wast...

Self-Sabotage : Enjoying self-destruction

Image
Think like a conqueror and win the battle of life Self Sabotage You need to know how to overcome self-sabotage. A part of your mind seeks your own destruction. It seeks bad choices and feels pleasure when we indulge into them. It likes temptation and failures. I had a chance to explore this part of myself during the last months. And oh boy, it is sneaky. It takes advantage of difficult tasks to convince you to give up and step on your past progress. There’s no doubt that this “Self-Sabotage” part of us can 100% kill who we could’ve been. Those who conquer this part of themselves become master of their own fate. But if you don’t, it’s very easy to lose track of what you (personally) want out of life. Self-Sabotage — the steps to be a conqueror: Those who dominate their self-destructive tendencies are guided by a calling bigger than themselves. That’s the first step: finding where your calling comes from. Then, the conqueror tries to find his weaknesses. Most of them ...

The Path to True Freedom is Passion

Image
Every human has a passion within them. A desire or a wish. The desire is like a bird within us, striving to fly higher and higher up towards the freedom we’ve always wanted but felt never like we got. One part of our job understanding (roughly) where that bird wants to go. Another is making its direction more precise by choosing a specific path that aligns with the bird’s desire. And, at last, it is all about flying alongside our inner bird. But don’t be fooled. This process isn’t as tricky as everyone made us think.   Precisions - the 3 steps I am going to explain what the steps are. The first step is finding your natural inclination. Maybe words, or sports, whatever. The second step is making the bird’s natural inclination more precise. You do this by choosing a concrete direction based on what the bird says (this step is more about choosing than finding). And the last step is flying with the bird. This means diving head first into what you’ve found. Goi...

3 Ways to Gain Insight Into Your Authentic Self

Image
Internationally, 75% of workers don’t like their job. Do you think that statistic would be that high if people knew who the hell they were? Obviously not. The ones who know themselves don’t get lost into a life they hate easily. Anyways, asides from writing Yoda-like stuff, I am also here to help you live a meaningful life. I’ll do that by explaining 3 easy techniques that will help you know yourself better. 1. Pick at your childhood like a dog at a bone Childhood defines almost every part of who you are. It’s also the time we notice a lot about ourselves. For example What we’re good at What we like Who do we aspire to be like And so much more. Try this: journal about your  childhood memories . Think about how they could’ve defined who you are  today . You might not remember much at first. But after a few times, new memories will start to pop into your head. Write them down. Create a database of them. Harness your childhood memories right and yo...

Accidents happen. Ralf Smart  2 styles Two words: breathing, visualisations. Those are the two. Breathing: Breathing meditations are supposed to be simple. Many gurus just over complicate it. So here’s how you really do it. Pick one spot in your body. Zoom in on that spot as much as possible. For me right now, that’s my left armpit. Then, feel that spot as much as possible. Try to feel every millisecond of the sensation. That’s it. When you get distracted, come back to that spot. A...

Unlock Your Identity: The 4 Stages Of Self-Discovery

Image
Many young men feel lost. We don’t know what to do with our lives — and most importantly — we aren’t sure what we like. There are stages to discovering who we are. Knowing and understanding where you’re at helps you make progress.   The four stages of your identity: The more positive actions you take, the higher up you get in the four stages. Where you’re at on the scale of 1–4 depends on you.   1. The first stage: Foreclosure When you act without questioning yourself, you’re in foreclosure. This is the lowest stage of identity. In this stage, you don’t question who you are, you just assume it. An example is: let’s say Jeremy went to uni in finances because that’s what everyone does. It’s just the logical next step.   2. The second stage: Not knowing After foreclosure, you notice that you don’t know anything. The person you were in stage one doesn’t make sense anymore. You notice that following the crowd isn’t actually what you want ...

Read With Purpose: What I learned After 500+ Hours of Reading

Image
Reading teaches you to live boldly. It teaches you to reject what you don’t need. And to live the life you want. Without it, it’s hard to pick your own path (the authentic one). Not because you’ll lack knowledge. But because of something different. Something that most readers don’t do. Highlighting. If you are a reader, you need to pick ideas out of what you read. Here’s the trick You can’t remember everything in a book. This means you have to choose what’s important. Try this next time you read: pick one or two ideas out of what you read and try to remember them. The trick is to focus on a few ideas. When you have those few ideas, you’ll be able to implement them into your life and incorporate them into who you are. - Scan for the best. - Highlight the best. - Use the best. Reading is useful, but not because of knowledge In life, you’ll need to make sacrifices. But in making a sacrifice you’ll face uncertainty. The thing with reading is that...
